How should I use these resources?
- Decide which social media platform you will use. Images for Facebook and Instagram are labeled “FB/IG”. Images for Twitter, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn are labeled “LI/Tw/Nd”.
- Develop a few sentences explaining how program participants should dispose of the material in the gif. Link to websites for more info, tag people or organizations and/or boost your post to get the most views.
- Post on social media! When publishing gifs, they may show up as a photo or a video, depending on the platform. Some platforms may or may not show a preview of the gif. Don’t worry! The gifs will publish correctly. Watch this video for more information on posting to Facebook, and this video for publishing to Twitter.
I got the folder, but can’t unzip it!
In order to email you the gif files, we have to compress them into a “zipped folder”. PC users should “unzip” the files by right-clicking on the folder and selecting “Extract All”. Help! The gifs are broken/aren’t moving/appear blank on my computer!
No need to worry, this is expected. In order to view gifs, in your file viewer, right-click on the file you want to preview, then hover over “Open With” to pull up more options. Select your primary browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc) to preview the animated gif. This is how the gif will appear when shared on social media. Watch this tutorial.
